Robert Newland, President & CEO
Robert founded Career Partners International, Florida Caribbean (formerly Newland Associates) in 1991, and over the years he has been involved in many local, national and international projects for the firm including recruitment, talent management and affirmative action compliance across a broad set of industries. Robert graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Management and has continued to enhance his education through programs like the Harvard Business School Private Equity & Venture Capital Executive Development Program and the Mergers & Acquisition Executive Development Program at Pepperdine University. He sits on the Boards of Heart of Florida United Way and Junior Achievement. He is also appointed to Mayor Teresa Jacobs’ Orange County – Puerto Rico Trade Workgroup, and is part of the Editorial Advisory Board of Vision, the award-winning business magazine of the Hispanic Chamber of Metro Orlando. Robert is fully bilingual (English/Spanish).
Jim Taylor, Senior VP & Managing Director
A behavioral expert with a Master’s Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Jim has run a national 20+ person team for executive, professional and volume recruiting for multiple industries. He’s also conducted multiple behavioral studies and leadership programs over his 25 year career. His experience also includes 10 years at Johnson & Johnson World-Wide Headquarters, in addition to a number of years in the Wealth Management – Benefits practice of Merrill Lynch. Jim is on the Board of the Children’s Home Society of Brevard for 6 years included two years as Board Chair and is currently Chairman of a Fund Raising Capital Steering Committee within the same nonprofit. His professional memberships include The Society for Human Resource Management, The American Psychological Association and the Society of Industrial & Organizational Psychology.
Mitch Cohen, Market Vice President
Mr. Cohen has over 20 years of sales and management experience in the healthcare and other sectors. Prior to joining our firm, Mitch held multiple positions at a large ambulance company, including the role of CEO and VP of Sales. He played an integral part in growing the business to over $35 million in revenue and the eventual selling of the business. Mitch also has an extensive background in community and government relations, including strategic planning of community partnerships with local municipalities and chambers of commerce. In addition, he’s provided support to the Government Relations function by working closely with elected officials at the municipal, county and state level.
Maricruz Freytes Diaz, PhD, Market Vice President
Dr. Maricruz Freytes holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Master’s and a Doctorate in Organizational Industrial Psychology from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. She is also certified as a talent coach by the International Coaching Federation of the United States and is certified in Hogan Assessments by Hogan International. Prior to joining Career Partners International, she held several professional roles in various industries including Senior Vice President of a global consulting firm dedicated to career and talent management.
Dr. Freytes has extensive experience in the areas of organizational consulting, test measurement and interpretation, executive and career coaching, recruitment, training, outplacement project management, sales and marketing. Her experience as a consultant supporting companies in planning and executing organizational changes has positioned Dr. Maricruz to be an expert in her field. Dr. Freytes is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management PR and National Chapter, Labor Relations Association of Puerto Rico, and the Society of Industrial Psychologists of the United States (SIOP).
Beatriz Newland-Céspedes, Shareholder & Senior Consultant
Beatriz joined the firm 18 years ago, armed with a degree in Finance from the University of Puerto Rico and years of experience in the insurance industry. She is a Certified Career Coach and experienced management consultant with an emphasis in AAP/EEO Labor Compliance, where she works with many Fortune 500 companies across the nation. She is actively involved in managing our compliance team, where they hold a stellar record supporting clients during federal audits, preparing Affirmative Action Plans, training client management in compliance matters, conducting client mock audits in AA/EEO, I-9 verification, compensation and job analysis, and Wage & Hour audits among others. Beatriz is completely bilingual (English/Spanish).
Ann Robbins, Senior VP Client Services
Ann Robbins has over 20 of experience in the areas of Talent Management, Leadership Development, Organizational Performance, Sales Management, Career Transition and Change Management. Previously, Ann served as Senior Vice President, Managing Director for Right Management, with full P&L responsibility for the Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville Offices. In addition to this role, she was Senior Vice President, Client Services for the Florida/Caribbean region of Right Management. In prior years, she served as Director of Operations for Lee Hecht Harrison in Tampa. Ann is an in-demand speaker and trainer with education and training in business and psychology. She has been awarded certification as a Career Management Practitioner (CMP), one of only three in Central Florida, by the International Board of Career Management Certification, for demonstrated excellence, education, and achievement in career management practices. She is a Master Certified Relationship & Life Coach, Executive Coach and Executive Career Transition Consultant.
Suzanne Mora, Director of Client Services
Suzanne works directly in support of the President, Senior Vice President and staff to ensure the accomplishment of the organization’s goals. Suzanne’s role includes making sure that our clients are served well by ensuring projects run on time and within budget, while maintaining a high level of quality of service. This includes project management, consultant assignments, and operations process analysis and optimization.
As Director of Client Services, Suzanne also works in support of business development efforts, managing all marketing and communications, and maintaining vendor and client relations. She is also our Career Transition Referral Coordinator and helps to manage all our career transition programs, working and managing all programs to ensure the highest level of care and support.
As a key associate in fostering strong relationships with clients, staff, and business partners, Suzanne takes great pride in seeing projects from start to finish and building lasting relationships.
Linda Cobb, Executive Coach and Senior Consultant
Linda Cobb is a personnel psychologist/ executive coach with over 20 years experience working within the healthcare industry, where she is widely respected for coaching and training CEO’s, physicians, and nurses, as well as executive and department teams. Linda holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, a master’s degree in Personnel Psychology, and is a graduate of Coach University, and the Arbinger Institute’s Mastery in Coaching where she was selected to join their global Results Coaching Team. She is a registered corporate coach and holds certifications in trauma debriefing, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), and various assessments.
Her combined training and experience offer her clients a special advantage when managing conflict, dealing with rapid change, or planning strategy with opposing groups. Linda is a longstanding Board of Directors member for the Brevard Achievement Center, serves as a business mentor for the Women’s Business Center at Florida Tech, is a contributing consultant and speaker for LEAD Brevard, and has served as a facilitator for county strategy planning sessions. Linda is also the author of Directions: A Guide for Life and The Thrive Guide for Caregivers: Tools for Preserving Your Sanity, Energy, and Relationships, and is a co-author of Ready, Aim, Excel with Ken Blanchard.
Dr. Ivonne Moreno-Velazquez, Senior Consultant ECLD Practice
Dr. Moreno is a dynamic professional committed to the growth and development of the human beings. She is passionate about her profession, which she has exercised as Professor, Researcher Consultant and Coach in pharmaceutical, health, educational, banking and professional organizations in México, Puerto Rico and the United States. She has developed leader development programs in two of biggest organizations in Puerto Rico whose results have been measured with learning and behavioral measures.
She has conducted research on the development of Industrial Organizational Psychology in Puerto Rico and diverse topics in Occupational Health Psychology whose results have been presented in professional conferences and published in professional peer-reviewed journals and newspaper columns. She firmly believes in the enormous potential of every human being and in the utmost importance of creating work environments, which provide the best conditions, to unleash their talents and energy. She has occupied several positions in the academic leadership of the University of Puerto Rico, Carlos Albizu University and in the Puerto Rico Psychological Association, the American Psychological Association, and the Inter American Psychological Society.
Litza Alicea, Senior Consultant
Litza is a Talent Management consultant and Certified Career and Retirement Coach. She holds an MBA in Human Resources with a B.A. in Accounting. Litza has worked in various HR roles for a diverse set of organizations. Experienced consultant with an emphasis in Affirmative Action Program/EEO Labor Compliance. This includes supporting clients during federal audits, preparing Affirmative Action Plans, training client management in compliance matters, conducting client mock audits in AA/EEO, I-9 verification, compensation and job analysis, and Wage & Hour audits among others. She also ran the recruiting function for a former staffing affiliate of our firm. She is also an active member of the Society for Human Resources Management, Puerto Rico Chapter.
